Frequently Asked Questions
Does Vietnam have eSIM?
Yes. Viettel, VinaPhone and MobiFone all support eSIM and sell prepaid eSIM plans to international visitors. Travel eSIMs for Vietnam run on those three networks and on Vietnamobile, which is how they work in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Hoi An. Your phone needs eSIM support and must not be carrier-locked.

Can I buy a Vietnam eSIM online before I fly?
Yes, and it is the easier way round. Buy it from home, install it while you still have Wi-Fi, since installing an eSIM needs an internet connection, and switch the line on when you land at Noi Bai in Hanoi, Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City or Da Nang. That way you have maps and ride apps working before you leave the terminal.

What our customers say

Mentions VietnamI’ve been travelling around SE Asia for the last 7 months, covering 6 different countries, and this app has been amazing throughout when needing to change eSIM. Very easy set-up when buying one and if you in fact are having some troubles, contacting the support team and talking through email takes no time at all. I was having some difficulty with an eSIM in Vietnam since my phone was not finding a signal no matter what I did - their support team helped me and guided me on different ways to fix it. Thank you!!

I used it for the first time with my wife during our trip to Japan and Korea, and I didn't experience any connection problems. The internet was fast enough in both Japan and Korea, and I was satisfied with the app. I recommend it.
