Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Sao Tome and Principe eSIM come with a phone number?
Most travel eSIMs, including most Sao Tome and Principe plans, are data-only and have no local number. You keep your usual number on your main SIM for calls, texts and WhatsApp. Plans that include a number or minutes say so on the plan page.
Will my phone work with a Sao Tome and Principe eSIM?
Yes, if it supports eSIM and is not locked to a carrier. To check, dial *#06#: if an EID number appears, your phone supports eSIM. Most iPhones from the XS/XR on, Galaxy S20 and later and Pixel 3 and later do, except most models sold in mainland China and some sold in Hong Kong and Macao.
Can I keep my own SIM and WhatsApp while using a Sao Tome and Principe eSIM?
Yes. Your eSIM and your main SIM can be active at the same time. Use the eSIM for mobile data with data roaming on for that line, and turn data roaming off on your home SIM to avoid charges. WhatsApp keeps working on your usual number.

What our customers say

I’ve been travelling around SE Asia for the last 7 months, covering 6 different countries, and this app has been amazing throughout when needing to change eSIM. Very easy set-up when buying one and if you in fact are having some troubles, contacting the support team and talking through email takes no time at all. I was having some difficulty with an eSIM in Vietnam since my phone was not finding a signal no matter what I did - their support team helped me and guided me on different ways to fix it. Thank you!!

I bought the eSIM for a holiday in Tibet. Everything was great; with the integrated VPN I was able to access all the sites that are normally blocked in China (Google, WhatsApp, etc.).
